Casa de las Alhajas
The Historical Central Building of Monte de Piedad and Caja de Ahorros de Madrid is a splendid example of nineteenth-century Madrid architecture dedicated to banking use. Designed by the architect Fernando Arbós y Tremanti, this 6313 m2 building made of cast iron structure, riveted steel beams, granite masonry, solid brick masonry and lead covers was completed in 1875. Due to its exceptionality the building has a unique degree of protection as a monument and is an asset of Cultural Interest.
