The intervention carried out at the National Museum of Anthropology in Madrid focused on the comprehensive restoration of the lead roofing and historic skylights—key elements both functionally and from a heritage perspective. PROSKENE participated as construction supervisor in a complex project that involved the controlled replacement of deteriorated components, the reinforcement of the supporting roof structures, and the restoration of glazed elements. The primary goal was to ensure watertightness, protection against moisture, and the recovery of the original appearance of these unique building systems.
The works were executed in accordance with criteria of material compatibility, reversibility, and aesthetic integration, respecting the original volume and traditional techniques used in the lead roofs, as well as the metal framework of the skylights.
