Convento de Santa Isabel

Convent of Santa Isabel

The intervention at the Convent of Santa Isabel, located in the historic center of Toledo, involved a comprehensive operation on a monastic complex of high heritage value, in which architectural restoration, conservation, and archaeological supervision tasks were carried out in a coordinated manner. The works focused on the pitched roofs, including the structural consolidation of the timber framework, replacement of ceramic tiles, and reinforcement of key points. Additionally, the timber floor structures were restored by consolidating joists and load-bearing elements at risk, and the traditional terracotta tile pavements were recovered.

The intervention also included cleaning, fixing, and localized reintegration of decorative plasterwork, the treatment and restoration of historic wrought iron grilles, as well as the conservation and selective replacement of original wooden carpentry elements.
