As part of a specialized consultancy aimed at the museographic adaptation of the Casa Botines in León, PROSKENE carried out a comprehensive evaluation of the building’s existing electrical and climate control systems. The intervention focused on analyzing the compatibility of the current technical infrastructure with the requirements of preventive conservation, energy efficiency, and environmental comfort specific to museum spaces—without compromising the heritage values of this iconic building designed by Antoni Gaudí.
The work included technical inspections, documentary review, consumption analysis, and the study of the building’s thermal and ventilation behavior. Based on the diagnostic findings, PROSKENE developed targeted improvement recommendations aimed at ensuring hygrothermal stability and electrical safety, while adapting the existing systems to contemporary museographic standards. The consultancy prioritized reversibility, minimal intervention, and compatibility with the historic architecture, with special attention to preserving the building’s cultural and exhibition functions.
