As part of the preliminary work for the recovery of the Altadis industrial complex, located on the riverfront of the Los Remedios district in Seville, PROSKENE carried out a technical campaign of architectural documentation and construction diagnostics on the historic buildings of the site, constructed in exposed brick and reinforced concrete. The objective was to establish a solid technical knowledge base to guide future rehabilitation and adaptive reuse interventions. A complete three-dimensional survey using 3D laser scanning was conducted, generating a high-precision geometric model that accurately captured the volumetric configuration, construction features, and overall conservation status of the structures.
In parallel, a systematic campaign of structural probes and inspections was conducted on both masonry walls and reinforced concrete elements, aimed at characterizing existing materials, identifying active pathologies, and assessing the mechanical behavior of the construction systems. This work included in situ testing, mortar and concrete analysis, rebar detection, and evaluation of moisture and corrosion conditions. All gathered data was integrated into a coordinated technical diagnosis, serving as the foundation for developing intervention proposals based on compatibility, durability, and heritage conservation criteria.
