PROSKENE carried out a specialized intervention on the protected building located at Tesoro 7, in the historic Malasaña neighborhood of Madrid, focusing on the structural reinforcement of the original load-bearing system. The building features a complex configuration combining solid brick masonry walls, timber-framed partitions, and metal floor structures, which were affected by advanced corrosion, deformations, and loss of load-bearing capacity. A comprehensive technical diagnosis was undertaken, including visual inspections, structural probes, non-destructive testing, and analytical modeling, to identify critical deterioration and structural weaknesses.
The proposed intervention involved localized reinforcement of the floors, including cleaning and anti-corrosion treatment of the metal elements, reinforcement or replacement of weakened profiles, and improvement of bearing conditions. Work was also carried out on load-bearing walls and framed partitions, consolidating masonry, stitching cracks, and stabilizing joints. All solutions followed the principles of compatibility, reversibility, and minimal alteration of the original construction system, while ensuring the structural safety, durability, and functional adaptation of the building for its new residential use.
