Edificio de Correos
Designed by the architects Josep Goday and Jaume Torres i Grau in 1914, who won the competition that was convened by the State Society of Posts and Telegraphs, this monumental classicist building covers an entire block of the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona
Correos, the public society of postal services, promoted the ambitious architectural digitalization of this 22,000 m2 building while in use. Our team collaborated in the preliminary studies by performing a laser scanning survey and reviewing the existing planimetry based on the point cloud obtained. This scan was subsequently used to undertake a BIM survey of the entire building, as well as to model the building’s unique architectural details and to perform a partial BIM survey of the facilities.
